What is Apollo 18?

  • Apollo 18 was a planned manned mission to the Moon that was part of the United States' Apollo program.
  • NASA originally planned an Apollo 18 mission to the moon (along with Apollo 19 and 20), but those flights were canceled in 1970 due to budgetary constraints.
  • Conspiracy theory was that the expedition landed on the Moon in December 1974, but never returned, and as a result the United States has never launched another expedition to the Moon
  • "Apollo 18" is a 2011 science fiction film directed by Gonzalo López-Gallego.

Summary

  • The film begins with the launch of the Apollo 18 mission, with astronauts Ben Anderson and Nathan Walker heading to the lunar surface.

  • Once on the moon, they begin their mission, but soon encounter strange events, including strange rock formations and malfunctioning equipment.
  • Later they discover a USSR aircraft and a cosmonaut alerting them of danger.
  • Nathan walker gets attacked by a UFO and begins to portray signs of psychological madness in which he tries to Murder his other comrade.

  • As they investigate these occurrences, they begin to suspect that there may be alien presence on the moon.
  • Nathan supposedly dies after UFO swarm over him Anderson alerts command center.

Part 1

  • Anderson decides to operate the USSR aircraft by contacting the Russian government.

  • Deputy secretary of defense decides to deny the astronauts access from entering back to earth due to there infection .

  • Anderson decides to continue on and operate the USSR spacecraft.

  • All seem well Until a Possessed Nathan walker decides to damage the aircraft resulting in aliens taking away his life.
