who am I

ABOUT ME

South Asia has a lot of problems and natural disasters everywhere. I'm a Red Cross Worker and I'm trying to support supplies in these ares to help them fight the natural disasters. Generally all of south Africa is in much trouble, but i think that the most countries that are needed in help are Bangladesh and Pakistan.

THE PROBLEMS

The natural disasters in south Asia (Pakistan, Bangladesh)

The natural disasters that the both country are facing is flooding. Floods can cause a lot of houses to be ruined and destroyed. They are common and major natural disasters in a lot of other countries, making millions of people suffer. Pakistan and Bangladesh have at least 3 floods every year making people scared they might loose there homes.

In Pakistan, heavy rainfalls causes the river to overflow of its banks and in addition, majority of the people have homes along the river affecting there homes and their farm land.

In Bangladesh, the land has low elevation. There are rivers passing thru the country including the Ganges. The flooding starts when the melting of the Himalayas and the mountains which the river has its source from therefore, filling the river more.

THE CHALLENGES

I would consider the culture of Pakistan and Bangladesh such as language and how they greet each other. There are many different types of ways these people speak, therefore communicating would be difficult. Too make it easier for me I would study and learn there language and culture or bring a translator that speaks Bengali, Punjabi, and other languages.

My plan

MY PLAN

My plan would be bring all the resources I can from a airplane or a helicopter. After we land i would rent or buy a boat cause it is flooded. After that I would go to different houses transferring people to safer places and have a lot of towel with me cause it would cold for them after they are out of the water. And the other red cross workers would provide people with food and supplies. In 2010, about 18 million Pakistanis were effected from floods and in 1984, 30 million people were effected from floods in Bangladesh. Most of the reasons they suffered were cause of the food and supplies, most of there stuff were gone cause of the flood making them hungry and having no where to sleep. If a flood occurred about 18 to 20 million people would be effected and in need of help.
