I chose Human Evolution because everyone know that we didn't always look like we do now but not many people know the actual scientific part of this topic. So I chose this topic to help people understand more about Human Evolution.
You will learn multiple things some new and some old. This presentation is to help you understand more about Human Evolution .
Sahelanthropus tchadensis- When we were seperated from our closest nom-hominin Chimpanzees
Keyanthropus platyops- Meaning flat faced, was found in Lake Turkana, Kenya in 1999
Australopithecus afarensis- Found in Hader, Ethiopia in 1974, the first Australopithecus found was named Lucy. Lucy was a 64lb. 3,7ft. girl who had long arms but was human waist down.
Paranthropus boisei- Boisei meaning nutcracker man, he had a mouth 4x the size of the average humans mouth. It had many big teeth used to eat harsh nuts.
hominin- A primate of a taxonomic tribe (hominini), which comprises those species regarded as humans, directly ancestral to humans, or very closly related to humans
Nonhominin- That is what not hominin
Homo habilis- Was one of our smartest ancestors so far. As our first ancestor to use stones, their name means Handy man.
Homo ergaster- By far this step in humanity is the smartest of the prior evolutions. This was the step where humans started using fire and they made suffisicated stone tools.
Homo erectus- This group was known for being able to control fire, have weapons, and live in small groups
Homo heidelbergensis- This evolution is known to be the first religious of our evolutions.
Homo neanderthalensis- This step in human evolution was the closest to modern day humans. This evolution had thicker bodies and diets of mostly meat
Homo sapiens- Also known as modern day human, we range in height, weight, and looks. We are the most advanced evolution of all.
-Homo ergaster measured in having 850cc or 71% of our brain today
-Homo Habilis stood roughly at 3-4 feet tall
-Humans have phyically changed over the last 10,000 years
-Darwin didn't argue that humans came from monkeys. He wrote only that humans, mokeys, and apes share a commen ancestor.
-Approximately 550 million years ago, humans shared a common ancestor with a lancelet, a rod-like sea creature.
