ERASMUS provides students with the chance to study in another European country, gain work experience, and develop new skills.

Participating in ERASMUS international credit mobility programs and initiatives offers valuable opportunities for academic and professional development on a global scale.

The ERASMUS international credit mobility programs include Capacity Building for Higher Education (CBHE), Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters (EMJM), Erasmus Mundus Design Measures (EMDM), and Jean Monnet Actions (JMA). These initiatives aim to promote international cooperation and collaboration in the field of higher education.

What are the key components of ERASMUS international credit mobility programs and initiatives?

  • Increase people to people contacts via international mobility of students, interns, academic and administrative staff of universities
  • Cooperation for capacity building and for the creation of joint master degrees between Europe and Middle East

What is ERASMUS?

Activities supported (I)

  • All partners in an ICM project can send and host students and staff as described in their submitted project and provided that a relevant grant has been secured.

  • For developing countries, Bachelor/Master student mobility is only possible to Europe – this means Iraqi/ Iranian/ Yemeni universities can send but not host.

Impact for higher Education in Middle East

  • Short-term higher education mobility for students, academic and administrative staff.

  • All levels: Bachelor, Master and PhD candidates.

  • Mobility in any subject or academic discipline.

  • Study periods and traineeships of 2 – 12 months.
  • CBHE (Capacity Building in Higher Education) : Great projects under implementation involving Iraq and

Yemen.

  • The Middle East is covered by Erasmus+ National

Focal Points (ENFPs) in Iraq and the 6 GCC countries.

  • Key Action 1: Learning mobility for individuals.

  • Key Action 2: Cooperation among organisations and institutions.

  • Key Action 3: Support for Policy Development and Cooperation.

  • ERASMUS is a European Union student exchange program that offers opportunities for international study, training, and work experience.

  • Erasmus+ 2021-2027 offers more international opportunities than ever before!
  • Higher Education Institutions in the Programme countries.

  • Recently, I added our university to the program of ERASMUS.

3- Approximately 9,000 university teachers contribute to Jean Monnet courses every year.

1- European Union Studies:

In the field of European studies and integration, there are about 6,932 Jean Monnet Actions.

2-Jean Monnet beneficiaries are present in over 100 countries worldwide, with over 1,000 universities offering Jean Monnet courses.
