Non-Conformances

  • We passed our SQF Audit with a score of 95

Non-Conformances

The site flow chart observed accounted for input such as water, nitrogen, and rework. However, the site did not account for all outputs of the process operations.

Flow Chart

The site utilized an outside laboratory which is ISO 17025 accredited for their environment monitoring and finished product analysis. However, the outside laboratory was not documented on the outside contracted service provider list.

Contract Service Providers

Food Defense Challenge

The site provided evidence of their annual review of the food defense plan.

However, there was no evidence of a food defense challenge available for review during the audit.

One employee work jacket was stored on top of the bulk packaging machine in the production room.

GMPs

One employee in the production room was observed wearing a bracelet, and according to the site jewelry and personnel policy only plain wedding bands are allowed in the food processing and handling area.

Jewelry Policy

GMPs

What does GMP stand for?

Some things that fall under GMPs include...

  • Disease Control
  • Handling of Cuts, Boils, and Abrasions
  • Tobacco Usage
  • Food Consumption and Storage
  • Hand Washing Practices
  • Personal Hygiene
  • Uniforms
  • Jewelry Policy

Disease Control

No person who sick with a disease that could be transferred to another person through the contamination of food shall enter the facility under any circumstances.

Can you name any diseases that qualify?

In addition - if you have any symptoms related to acute gastrointestinal issues, such as diarrhea, vomiting, loss of appetite for 3 days or more, intense stomach cramping, or jaundice, please report this to management

REMINDER - After you have exhausted your sick leave, you need to bring in a doctors note to avoid the accrual of attendance points for your absence from work

If you have a minor cut on an exposed area of your body, you must cover it with a band aid.

Can you use a band aid from home?

Food and beverages are allowed to be consumed and stored in the facility only in designated areas.

Does this include gum?

Remember to take particular care in washing your hands if you consume an allergen during your lunch.

Every employee will wash and sanitize their hands when...

  • Entering the production floor
  • After using the bathroom
  • After consuming food
  • After smoking
  • After sneezing
  • After touching any contaminated surface before they touch product or product contact surfaces

Just like ensuring the machines are clean each day, it is important that each of you as operators are as well!

This means...

  • Wearing a clean uniform
  • Not removing your uniform from the property - be sure to change back to your personal clothes before leaving!
  • Coming to work showered and clean
  • Ensuring you are free of excessive body odor
  • Hair and facial hair is clean and neat and covered with the appropriate hairnets

Loose objects and jewelry such as watches, bracelets, necklaces, and earrings are prohibited from any area where there is potential that these objects could enter the food stream.

The only jewelry allowed is plain wedding bands.

Pasteurizing

  • Will be held every other Month on the second Monday to facilitate all shifts meeting at once

to alert when it is time to change

the HTST charts

  • ODA has noted repeatedly the

overlap on the charts - FDA will be

looking for this on next visit

Thank you for be conscientious about wearing fall protection!
