The San Antonio Spurs are an American professional basketball team based in San Antonio, Texas. The Spurs compete in the National Basketball Association (NBA) as a member of the league's Western Conference Southwest Division. The team plays its home games at the AT&T Center in San Antonio.

The Spurs are one of four former American Basketball Association (ABA) teams to remain intact in the NBA after the 1976 ABA–NBA merger and are the only former ABA team to have won an NBA championship. The franchise has won NBA championships in 1999, 2003, 2005, 2007, and 2014. As of May 2015, the Spurs had the highest winning percentage among active NBA franchises.As of May 2017, the Spurs had the best winning percentage of any franchise in the major professional sports leagues in the United States and Canada over the previous three decades. From 1999–2000 to 2016–17, the Spurs won 50 games each season, setting a record of 18 consecutive 50-win seasons. In the 2018–19 season, the Spurs matched an NBA record for most consecutive playoff appearances with 22. The team's recent success has coincided with the tenure of current head coach Gregg Popovich and with the playing careers of Spurs icons David Robinson (1989-2003) and Tim Duncan (1997-2016).

was the captain of the San Antonio Spurs, from which he was selected as the first absolute choice in the 1997 NBA Draft, after finishing college.
Winner of 5 NBA titles, two regular season MVPs and three MVPs of the NBA finals stand out among the individual prizes. He is one of the two players in history (the other is John Salley) to succeed in winning the NBA title in three different decades. He was also elected by Sports Illustrated best player of the decade 2000-2010.
Tony Parker 2001-Present
Tony Parker, San Antonio's point guard for the last 12 seasons, has consistently improved since his rookie year.
From 9.2 points, 4.3 assists and 2.6 rebounds in his first season, to 18.8, 6.0 and 3.2 in 2007-08, to 20.3, 7.6 and 3.0 last year, Parker has evolved from a distributor to a playmaker.
Parker has won three championships with the Spurs and earned the 2007 Finals MVP. He has appeared in five All-Star games, been selected to three All-NBA teams and is the franchise leader in assists.
The French guard also ranks fourth-best and seventh-best on San Antonio's points and steals lists, respectively.
George Gervin, 1974-1985
Nicknamed "The Iceman," George Gervin was a cold-blooded scorer.
Gervin won the NBA scoring title four times and was a top-10 bucket-getter in the ABA or NBA 11 different seasons, and he held the franchise scoring record until this calendar year.
He once had the most steals in team history (and still remains in second), forcing 1,159 turnovers during his 12 seasons with the Spurs.
A nine-time All-NBA selection, 12-time All-Star, 1980 All-Star Game MVP, Gervin is only missing the illustrious NBA championship as an addition to his impressive resume.
San Antonio retired Gervin's jersey in 1987.
