Goals

Shintoism Buddhism and Hinduism all have goals.

-Shintoism: To be connected to nature and to purify the world

-Buddhism: To reach Nirvana

-Hinduism- To reach Moksha

Both Hinduism and Buddhisms goals are to end reincarnation.

Gods or Leaders

-Shintoism: Kami are considered gods, and Shinshokus are priests.

-Buddhism: no gods, however the people follow Buddha

-Hinduism: multiple gods, Examples are Shiva and Vishnu. Main god is Brahman

-Shintoism: Polytheistic, they worship many kami

-Buddhism: Atheistic, no gods but they follow Buddha

-Buddhism: reincarnation, when reincarnation ends you reach Nirvana

-Hinduism: reincarnation, when reincarnation ends you reach Moksha

-Shintoism: Holy book is Kojiki, Shintos use shrines to worship.

-Buddhism: Holy book is Sutras, Tibetan Buddhists use bells , beads and drums for worship.

-Hinduism: Holy book is Vedas, Some examples of holy items are vermillion, gold and brass.

-Shintoism: Do not believe much in moral purity, mainly physical purity,

-Buddhism: Believe in Karma that balances the universe.

-Hinduism: Believe in Karma that balances the universe.

-Shintoism: Originated in Japan and is mainly in Japan.

-Buddhism: Originated in ancient India and is found throughout SE Asia

-Hinduism: Originated in Pakistan, found mainly in India but also in all of SE Asia.
