About The Character!
She is a young girl that is 16 years old (&) five feet three inches that also works at Baskin-Robbins. She is a person that is determined to get what she wants. I say this because she really wanted the denim mini but she eventually realize everything you want you don't need. Going more towards the end she learns responsibility.
Character Conflict
In this text the character problem was that she is a short girl who worked at Baskin- Robins (&) was always falling in the frezzer or on the floor while trying to scoop ice cream for customers. The other conflict was she started working because she wanted to buy the denim mini.
I can connect to the text because my parents are the same way when it comes to buying things like clothes (&) sneakers. In the text it states "My mother calmly informed me,
in a tone that suggested I had five seconds before I would meet my
Maker, that when I had my own job I could buy any clothes I wanted. Until then, she would decide what I wore and what I did not." From this quote my (&) Shonda parents connect because my parents also want me to understand that they are in control of what I wear until I am older enough to buy my own clothing.

Essential Question
Teenage years help you prepare for your adulthood because you are practicing your adult life. I say this because we start finding jobs, learning how to drive, to cook,to take care of ourselves, etc. Teenage years also help you prepare for your adulthood because it teaches you responsibility.
