In the beginning of the story the readers meet the characters and learn about them. Next, the Grace family moves into this old house that seems a little creepy. After that, Jared gets curious about the house and starts to wander around. While he is wandering he hears something coming from the walls. Then, he informs Simon and Mallory about the noise. Finally, they don't believe him until they hear it themselves.

First, they decide to try to catch it the next day. After, they hear it and grab a broom, SMASH they made a hole in the wall. Next, that night while everyone is sleeping Jared wakes up and sees Mallory's hair tied to the bed. Then, Mallory wakes up and screams "CUT IT OFF." Finally, the kids think it will be best to search at night.

First, the kids wake up in the middle of the night and decide to start searching. They decide to put Jared in the dumbwaiter to see where it goes. Next, at the top floor the dumbwaiter goes to is a secret library where you can only entrance from the dumbwaiter. After, Jared is search and finds a book called The Field Guide, he brings it back and the kids can't stop reading it. Next, the book is about faeries and bogarts which reveals that one of those creatures is cursing them. Then, as they're outside they find it's house and move it to the secret library. Finally, as they're leaving the library the bogart talks to them and says the book is what they've wanted to read but is to big for them to read.

The problem in the story is that when the Grace family moves into their new house they find out it's cursed and weird things start happening to them.

I rate this book a 3/10. I thought this book was quite a bit boring and not interesting enough.

I recommend this book to to someone who doesn't like a long book, a book with detail but doesn't want it jam packed, and likes mystery.

My opinion of this book is that it was short which I liked. The things I didn't like was that it was boring and was one of those books that you just want to put down.
