If other people look up to you and you set a postive example, it will encourgae you to continue your actions of staying substance free.

The people you hang out with can impact your actions, which is important when you want to stay substance free.
These are all non-profit groups whose members help each other stay sober. These can be helpful if you want people who you don't know to help you.
This involves being checked into a rehab facility where professionals will help you to remain sober through absitence. These are helpful when you want strict rules to help you become sober. There would be a therapist there to help you follow through on your plans.
When you feel like you don't have control over your life anymore, it is time to talk to a trusted adult and get help.
There are a lot of healthy alternatives to smoking, drinking, or doing drugs.

Chose to do activities that don't involve alcohol, drugs, or tobacco.

Even though it can be hard, it is so important that you remain focused on these alternatives and don't go back to smoking, drinking, or doing drugs.
Making sure that you have a plan to be able to have a subsatnce free lifestyle. This will help you acheive your goals of staying substance free and make it easier becuase you are following a plan that you have made!
Try to plan the ways that you would react when you are in a situation where you encounter drugs, alcohol, or tobacco. This can include avoiding certain events, or certain people who you know will encourage you to participate in those activites. Saying no is a good plan for when you may be face to face with a substance that you don't want to take. If you know what you want, you will be much more focused on keeping true to your plan and staying substance free!
If you understand what happens when you use alcohol, tobacco, or drugs, then you will be able to understand the dangers of using. The dangers of using these subsatnces can be enough to discourage you from using them.
Use the staregies we discussed in the other section to refuse when you are offered something you don't want. These strategies will help you be more confident in saying "no" and being able to lead a substance free life.
Tobacco-free enviroments in communities will help keep kids safe from the toxic chemicals in the smoke.
In just your community, there are a bunch of ways to seek help! It is very likely that there is a branch of AA, NA, or NA nearby, as well a programs specific to your town that can help you.
Try joining clubs at school that can help you understand the dangers of using, and can give you new hobbies to do.
When you use dangerous substances like alcohol, tobacco, or drugs they cause serious damages to your health. If you continue to use these substances, they can increase your risk of certain cancers and decrease your life expectancy. Not only will your phyiscal health get bad, your relationships will suffer as well as your mental health. If you want to stay healthy and live life to the fullest that you can, go substance free! This is the safest way to make sure that you will be the best version of yourself that you can be!
