Umm Al Nar is a historical site located in Abu Dhabi. It is a bronze age culture which occured in some 2600 - 2000 BCE. The Name 'Umm Al Nar' means "Mother of Fire". Many priceless discoveries have been found in the site.
The Citizens of Al Nar had plenty of food as the farms of the place had flourished and provided everything the people needed. A characteristic of the place is the circular tombs with multiple human remains in it. The belief is that it was used as a burial site for families. Close to the burial sites, there were towers present mainly near water bodies.
The Umm Al Nar culture had concluded at 2000 BCE. There are two explanations to the decline. The first is that the trade linking the UAE with
Mesopotamia, the Arabian Gulf and South Asia
declined. The second reason was of the climatic changes occuring to the area.
