what are artifacts.....?
An artifact can have numerous definitions. In anthropology and history, the typical definition is that it is a product of some society, usually intentionally made by someone in that society. These can be ancient things, like Ming vases or soapstone carvings.

Incense Burner
The destruction of Muweilah preserved many amazing artefacts for archaeologists to find thousands of years later. Included amongst the finds from Muweilah were some spectacular and unusual objects.
One example is the lid of a large incense burner with a figurine of a bull. The incense burner was placed on the ground. As the incense burners contain figurines of camels, showing how important this animal was to the inhabitants of Muweilah.
The use of incense became increasingly common during the Iron Age and began a tradition that is still an important part of the UAE culture.

Pearl
Dubbed the 'Abu Dhabi Pearl, it was found in layers carbon dated to 5800-5600 BCE, during the Neolithic period. The discovery is proof that pearls and oysters were used in the UAE nearly 8,000 years ago, and represents the earliest known evidence for pearling yet discovered anywhere in the world.
