Diorite
Late Period
&
360–343 B.C.
In this figure there is a Low Relief carving between the carving and the background. you can probably assume that the king here with his head Regalia and fake beard had other people potrayed around him that were smaller in stature than him on the hieratic scale like servants.
Similarities: Both men are in Composite pose and are wearing Regalia with the fake beard.
Both are low relief carving between the background and the subject.
The Palette of Narmer
Fecundity Figure
Differences: The palette of Narmer shows more of a hieratic scale with the smaller people and ruler where there is only the king in the fecundity figure. the fecundity is a offering for a god from a king and the palatte is a king killing another king the narrative of the two pieces are completly different.
I Chose this particular work because i believe the egyptians work with setting humans with their hips forward and feet to the front but the shoulders and chest are facing out towards the viewer known as composite pose. i chose this one because out of all the images we viewed like this there is a difference and his front heel dips in to the relief line.
