While the wombat was searching for food, he was struggling to find his usual roots and shrubs of trees. He started to eat less and less and this made him have a low metabolism. The wombat decided to eat slower so, it was easier to transition into a new diet .
A new predator was here and he was out to attack the wombat. So scared the wombat started to camouflage into the dark trees. This new adaptation helped the wombat stay safe from the predator. Even if the wombat was found, he wouldn't be alone because now he started to travel in packs to stay safe.
Earlier in the day the wombat came out of his burrow to realize the weather had drastically changed. He was experiencing a scorching hot temperature. His paws starting to burn so he went back in his burrow. He made his burrow with materials that could stand heat and his paws became tougher to handle the grounds temperature. He continued eating at night because it is not as hot as it is in the day. He lost the majority of his fur and the heat was no longer an issue the wombat faced.
He saw humans as a threat to him and he grew his fur back. His fur was able to camouflage again which helped him from being found by a human. The wombat even grew sharper teeth and claws. He continued being nocturnal and began to travel in a pack. That way, the wombat felt like he had protection at all times.
The wombat realized, his habitat was destroyed by floods. There was only one choice for the wombat, to swim. The wombat lived in a small portion of land and water. His paws turned into duck like feet and he lost his fur. He was able to see underwater and started to eat fish that became a part of his diet. He eventually got used to his new environment and diet.
