The Bread Riots

November 27, 1788

The price of bread was being raised, again, A lot of bakers felt obliged to close down their shops and the poor people were getting more and more distressed as to what was going on. This lead up the French Revolution because people were starving and France was becoming very dangerous.

The Storming of the Bastille

July 14, 1789

This takes place on the Eve of the Revolution. After a battle with some royal troops, the Parisians storm the Bastille which is the fortress of France.Paris seized the spotlight form the National Assembly. The Commander of the Bastille refused to open the gates and fired on crowd. Lot of people got enraged and broke through the gates and they killed the commander and a bunch more people.

August 4th, 1789

The National Assembly sprung into action, the nobles in the National Assembly and voted to end their privileges and agreed to give up certain rights. In the image, the national assembly is meeting together to discuss their rights

The Reign of terror begins

September 5, 1793

The reign of terror begins is “a series of massacres and numerous public executions took place in response to revolutionary fervour, anticlerical sentiment, and accusations of treason by the Committee of Public Safety”. An estimated 18,000- to 40,000 people were killed during it.
