Lynda- Logo Design

By Yoran

Why?

I choose this course becuase I wanted to learn what made a good logo work. I also wanted to learn how famous logo become memorable to people who see it for the first time and if coloured logos were better than black and white logos.

About the 4 events

I learnt what each event was and how they effected the human brain and how they made humans react when they saw something, in this case a logo.

Shapes

Shapes

I then learnt what kind of shapes made a logo aggresive or friendly such as vertical lines and triangles make a logo aggresive. But horizontal and circles make a logo friendly. Also how shapes make people react and think about a logo when they see it.

Attempts

I first started experimenting on drawing famous logos to see what worked and didn't. I then took my initials and turned them into a logo and tried drawing multipal logo design. I tried drawing the logo and making it black and white. I then decided to add a bit of colour to the logo thinking that it would make it better. After seeing how the logo looked with colour I decided to go back with a black and white logo.

Final Logo Design

I decided to use my initials (Y&S) in my logo. I tried going with a rectangular and black and white logo. I wanted to make it this way becuase I personally thought that the colour black and white looks good on a logo. What I found challenging when making this logo was choosing the right colours, the right shape of the logo and finding something complex but simple.
