Psychosocial support is the process and actions of assisting peoples mental well-being in their daily lives. In this case, we are concentrating on the effects of the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.
A way to help victims of natural disasters get back on their feet is by providing mental support. Many citizens health and well-being have been affected by these earthquakes, and providing this service to them can lessen any traumatic damage.
Multiple earthquakes have occurred around Syria and Turkey since the region is right where a number of tectonic plates interact. This section talks about mental health effects on adults and children
These earthquakes have displaced over 100,000 people and killed over 50,000 people. Losing something can be traumatizing and could cause distrust and instability. Trauma would be worse for Syrian refugees who escaped to Turkey. They may experience a larger mental impact due to past traumas
These circumstances affect lots of children. They are still young, and experiencing a traumatic event as a child can lead to a variety of mental health issues. Their bodies and minds are still developing, they could encounter mental and physical impacts.
These kind of events can cause many development and mental issues, as well as a number of side effects. Which is why its important we will provide mental health services to the best of our abilities.
Because these kids are not fully grown, this trauma can cause speed up natural processes. Both young girls and boys experience early puberty after traumatic earthquakes, and we need to understand that both mental and physical impacts are important to look at
Mental health symptoms are common. We need to address the problems early on or it could cause worse problems. Ignoring them can cause a worse problem further down the road which is why psychosocial support needs to be provided in order to minimize mental health damage.
Our objective is to provide high quality support to victims and survivors of earthquakes. We want to help those with mental issues and provide psychosocial support to all.
In order for this plan to work, we will need to be able to provide these next services: response teams, mental health professionals, medical professionals, police and firefighters, all of these groups of people can help to provide high quality mental health care.
Specialized care will be provided to those who are part of the response teams, and mental health professionals will be contacted to provide the general public with support.
To conclude, we will be making an effort to help the mental wellbeing of earthquake victims. We hope that our plan can be of help to those suffering from the earthquakes
