what is a drought?
A drought is a long time period of no rain fall in certain regions. A drought is a period of below average precipitation in a given region. A shortage of water. A drought is when temperature rises, evaporation increases and ground begins to dry and crack. A drought is when water evaporates and its gets hot.
Australia's first drought was in February 1983. During the drought 75 people were killed. It was the worst drought in the twentieth century due to serve bush fires and dust storms. This drought was the most dangerous drought in Australia so far.
Does the drought affect anything?
A drought can affect allot of different things lie water shortages and damaged land. Drought affect habitats as in their food and water supply shrinks. It cause animals and crops to die sometimes it can cause humans to die as well. A drought also affects the temperature because with out the water it gets hotter and temperature rises. It causes land and mud to crack.
What causes drought
A drought can be caused by a lot of things like climate change and no rain. To much climate change can be bad witch causes uneven rain and then that can cause drought. No rain means hotter days hotter days mean drought. The El Nino weather pattern causes less rainfall witch means drought.
Humans die in drought due to sun stroke or dehydration or heat waves. Sun stroke can be very bad to your heart and health it is caused for when your in the sun to long on a very hot day. Dehydration can be caused by hot days with out water. Heat waves are caused by very hot days and its like water on your face but the water is boiling hot air.
It depends on how much water and food they get. Its around 24 days. It just depends on how there treated. It also depends what type of animals they are and how big they are. It also depends on were they live.
