The history of

headphones

Nowadays headphones are essential for our life.

We use these accessories to work, practice physical activities, study, listen to music, etc...

Although popular, the vast majority of people don't know the history of headphones.

ho invented headphones

Who invented the headphones was Nathaniel Baldwin, in 1919. He was an American inventor and industrialist, recognized mainly for the creation of the headphones that, at first, appeared with the intention of helping in the communication of the time.

They were created to be used as amplifiers for telephones and radios.

Until that moment, this invention was marketed only for professional use. And of course, it was nothing like the models we have today. Back then, headphones were heavy, too big, and had uncomfortable cushions.

the evolution

However, they were still large models, uncomfortable and difficult to carry from one place to another. In 1979, many years later, the Walkmans with Sony headphones appeared, which would become very famous at the time.

From that point on, everything evolved quickly until it reached the current market with different models of headphones.

The headphones began to be marketed to the public in 1930, the year in which the Beyerdynamic company modernized the previous model.

In 1958, John C. Koss and Martin Lange invented the first headphones with stereo sound technology. An important milestone, because it was at that time that headphones became an accessory for people to listen to music.
