Having good reading fluency helps a reader to have good comprehension. That is what reading is all about, decoding and comprehension. These are the two cognitive elements of reading

Comprehension refers to one's ability to understand the word(s).

Decoding refers to the child's ability to recognize written information

"Sounding out" or "deciphering" is one way of the reader in learning how to read.

This is the Marungko Approach in reading.

In this approach of reading the alphabets are rather "pronounced" than read.

Marungko Approach Procedure

show the letter and name it infront

pronounce the letter properly aloud

have them repeat the correct sound of letter

have them write it in the air, on the floor or in their desk repeatedly

show pictures which name start with the letter being introduced to the children

have them pronounce the first letter of the picture shown repeatedly

if mastered, combine sounds of consonant and vowel to create a syllable then word
