3. Your thesis is your guiding statement of your essay.
4. Must include a statement with the subject and the writer’s opinion.
For Example: Pumpkin deserves the award for the most GRIT because......(list three reasons).
Explain your reasons in detail as to why your person deserves the GRIT award.
You should have 3 reasons and each reason will have a body paragraph using CD COM COM -
For instance-
The first reason Pumpkin deserves the GRIT award is because he never gave up. Even though his legs didn't work right and he had to wear braces that felt weird on his legs, he still persevered. He got up and practiced walking and when he fell down, he got up again.
Conclusion-
Write a concluding paragraph that sums up your argument as to why your person deserves the GRIT Award!
For Instance-
Pumpkin has earned the GRIT Award because he never gave up. When things were tough, he kept going. This is why Pumpkin deserves your vote for the GRIT Award.
Write your paper on note cards. Write just a couple of lines per note card so you can see it clearly if you need to look at it during your presentation.
Practice, practice, practice!!!!- Memorize as much as you can. Try to do the whole speech without looking at your cards. You can keep the cards handy in case you need to glance at them though.
