Doraemon is the name of a robot cat that came from the future to help a boy named Nobita Nobi. Doraemon is about the life of Nobita Nobi. In a typical story Doramon uses a gadget to solve a problem for Nobita, but Nobita goes too far and ends up being punished and learning a lesson.eople

Shizuka Minamoto ( Minamoto Shizuka), or Sue in the English dub, (born 8th May) is one of the main characters in the series, being the main female character. In the future after marrying Nobita, she is also known as Shizuka Nobi or Mrs. Nobi.

Nobita Nobi (Nobi Nobita), known simply as Noby in the English dub, is the protagonist of the Doraemon series. His birthday is on 7th August (Leo).

Suneo Honekawa ( Honekawa Suneo) (also known as Sneech in the English episodes) is a spoiled rich kid who likes to show off his cool stuff to his friends to make them jealous.

Dorami (born on December 2, 2114 with the name ドラミ) is the sister of Doraemon. She is yellow and has ears that resemble a large red bow. She happens to be about 2 years younger than Doraemon.

Tamako1 All the Way From the Country of the Future Tamako Nobi (野比玉子) (also known as Tamako Kataoka 片岡玉子) is Nobita's mother. She is very serious about Nobita's test marks, which is always 0. When she finds out where Nobita hides his exam answer sheets, her punishment is yelling, rarely spanking and reducing his pocket money. Nobita's mom is also serious about Nobita doing his homework, which he never does. She also sends him out on shopping errands, but Nobita usually forgets to buy them after he returns home.

He is Nobita's teacher. He is a strict taskmaster who often punishes Nobita for failing to do his homework, but always get fooled by Suneo's convincing acts of lying. The punishments range from standing in the hallway to sweeping the classroom after-school.

Nobisuke Nobi or Toby in the English version, is the father of Nobita and the adoptive father of Doraemon.

Yoshio Minamoto is Shizuka's father. He appears in only a few episodes of the series. His most popular appearance was in future when he was discussing with the adult Shizuka about her decision to marry Nobita in the short movie, Doraemon: Nobita's the Night Before a Wedding.

In a typical story Doramon uses a gadget to solve a problem for Nobita, but Nobita goes too far and ends up being punished and learning a lesson.

The Birth of

The Birth of Doraemon (2112年 ドラえもん誕生 2112 Nen Doraemon Tanjō) is a short film about the life of Doraemon from birth, before coming to Nobita. The short film is sort of a prequel to the entire series, it showed the life of Doraemon before traveling to the 20th century: How he was made, how he was partially broken, how he lost his ears, how he met the Nobi family and decides to return to the past to help Nobita. It premiered on March 4, 1995 in Japan, sharing the same bill with Doraemon: Nobita's Genesis Diary. The original movie was made in order to understand the initial setup of the Doraemon Manga.
