Captain Lemuel Gulliver

Gulliver's Travels is a great adventursous satire written by John Swift in the year 1726. Swift uses Captain Lemuel Gulliver's stories to relate to England in some ways but also tell a humerous story at the same time. Gulliver has many extrodanary voyages, two of them being his voyage to Lilliput and Brobdingnag where he encounters little six inch people and also huge sixty foot giants.

Gulliver's Beginning

Lemuel Gulliver was born in Nottinghamshire and later settled in Lodon. Gulliver is a married man as well as a surgeon. After Gullivers buisness in London begins to fail he decides to go sea and travel for six years.

The Antelope

At the end of his six year voyage Gulliver made the decison to accept last job offer as a surgeon on a ship named the Antelope.

Upon this voyage the Anetlope encountered severe weather leading to the death of twelve crew members. Six of them however, manage to survive and board a small rowboat.

The Survivor

Soon after the six crewmembers, including Gulliver, board the rowboat, the rowboat capsizes and none of the crew members are ever seen again.

Gulliver however, manages to swim safley to shore where he lies down to rest and falls asleep.

The Island of Lilliput

Gulliver soon awakens from his sleep to find that his arms leg, and hair is all tied down. When he feels something move across his chest he looks down to find a little man as tall as six inches holding a bow and arrow.

Gulliver begins to struggle and eventually frees his left hand and some of his hair so he can look around. When he looks to the side an army of little people begin firing arrows and attacking his body and face

After the Lilliputans strike Gulliver with their arrows he eventaully waves his left arm gesturing that he's going to be nice. The Lilliputans bring Gulliver food with drugs in it that put him to sleep. While sleeping the Lilliputans transport him to a old temple where he is chained up.

The Emporer

Gulliver becomes a valuable resource to the army of Lilliput. The emporer explains to Gulliver about the war over crackings eggs with Blefuscu.

Gulliver is soo presented to the Emporer of Lilliput where he is introduced to the courtly traditions like jumping on a tight rope for a court position

The Emporer

The Emporer lets Gulliver parade around the city. Gulliver is very careful not to brek anything or hurt anyone

Gulliver agrees to help and captures the ships of the Blefuscu.

Gulliver Escapes

Gulliver sails all the way back to England where he then sets out for his next voyage.

When this happes Gulliver makes a grand escape to Blefuscu.

Here is where Gulliver finds a boat big enough for him that he repairs and rows away.

Things take a turn for the worse for Gulliver when there is a fire that gulliver urinates on and is condemed to treason and to be shot in the eye and starved to death.

The Land of Brobdingnag

The Land of Brobdingnag

The giants here are much different than the Lilliputans. Here they have no goverment and unlike the Lilliputans they have huge pores and nasty skin where as the lilliputans had flawless looking skin.

The next voyage Gulliver travels on takes him to Brobdingnag, a land filled with giants. Gulliver is scared of the giants and is constantly in danger because all the creatures are so big compared to him.

The giants here are farmers. A field worker finds Gulliver and keeps him for his own immusment before selling him to the queen.

Gulliver eventually leaves Brobdingnag when the cage he was kept is is swooped up by a bird and dropped in the sea.

Gulliver was confused at how the giants had no goverment and did not understand politics at all. Even after lying about England to make it seem better they still were not impreessed.
