Everyone, please take out your student activity books. Open them to lesson 8-5, on page 174
82 : 5
40 : 4 = 10. 40 is the lowest number we can divide by 4 that will create a 2-digit quotient, therefore any dividend greater than 40 will create a 2-digit quotient.
51 is greater than 40, therefore 51 : 4 will make a
2-digit quotient.
60 : 6 = 10. 60 is the lowest number we can divide by 6 that will create a 2-digit quotient, therefore any dividend less than 60 will create a 1-digit quotient.
51 is less than 60, therefore 51 : 6 will make a
1-digit quotient.
