Super Refraction

By: Jack McGreevy

What It Is

Super Refraction is the bending of light in a way that makes things closer than they really are. It is either caused when temperature climbs with height, or humidity drops with height.

Pictures Of Refraction

A Famous Time It Happened

The one and only time this happened was in northern Ohio. The light bended in a way that in Cleveland you could see the Canadian border. There are a ton of times normal refraction happens but this was the only time refraction this severe happened.

When Super Refraction Occurs

Sound waves and light waves change speed when they pass across the boundary between two substances with different densities. Air and glass are the substances that usually cause why light could bend like that.
