Emmtt Till was a teenage boy who was unjustly murdered whos death caused an upsurge of activism that became known as the Civil Rights Movement.

Emmett TIll had a great impact on black history, but Emmett's mother, Mamie TIll, said that Emmett was her positive role model in life. She said that Emmett told her that "if she just works and pays the bills he'll take care of everything else". Emmett cooked dinners, did the laundery, and cleaned the house regularly for her.
I chose Emmett Till as my subject because he had a HUGE impact on the Civil Rights Movement and on the way people thought back then.
