Emmtt Till was a teenage boy who was unjustly murdered whos death caused an upsurge of activism that became known as the Civil Rights Movement.

Emmett was accused of harassing a local white woman in a corner store, then four days later was abducted from Moses Wrights home, his uncle.

Emmett TIll died on August 28, 1955 around 3:00 am.

Emmett Till was an only child with a single mother, his father was a private in the Army. Emmett went to Mccosh Elementary School but got polio and started to get teased because of the stutter the disease caused him to have.

Emmett Till was born on July 25, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois.

Emmett was brutally beat and was then dragged to the Tallahatchie River nearby and shot , being thrown into the river by the men who kidnapped him.

Emmett TIll had a great impact on black history, but Emmett's mother, Mamie TIll, said that Emmett was her positive role model in life. She said that Emmett told her that "if she just works and pays the bills he'll take care of everything else". Emmett cooked dinners, did the laundery, and cleaned the house regularly for her.
