Rhetorical Appeal

RA

The rhetorical appeal used in this song is Pathos. Pathos is one of the three types of rhetorical appeal and has to do with the emotion of a person. The reason why Pathos is used here is that the song displays the speaker, who speaks a lot of his childhood and how he was always told to have high hopes. Because of having high hopes, he was happy, “Always had high, high hopes...” (Line 8). He also had had some victories too, “museum victories” (Line 15).
