-2000 years ago on November 1 hallowen was called samhain (Sa-win)
How Halloween started
-October 31 people belived that the dead returned
-People left food and wine at the door for ghosts
-In the 8 century, October 31 was named hallow's eve
-Was soon called halloween
-Souling:On November 2 needy people go around beg for pastries called soul cakes
Trick or treat
-In return they would pray for there dead relatives
-Guising:Young peolpe would dress up and get food,wine and money
-In return they would sing,tell jokes or say a poem
-Was soon called trick or treating
