Purpose of Newborn Infant Pain Scales

Self-report measures, such as the visual analogue or faces scales, are the most important indicators of pain, as only a child knows exactly how much pain they are feeling.

PURPOSE

This is important to reolve any pain the infant may be expierincing .

FLACC PAIN SCALE

FLACC PAIN SCALE

Face, Legs, Activity, Cry, Consolability scale is a measurement used to assess pain for children between the ages of 2 months and 7 years or individuals that are unable to communicate their pain

0 = Relaxed and comfortable.

1-3 = Mild discomfort.

4-6 = Moderate pain.

7-10 = Severe discomfort/pain.
