STARTED?

The war started by Germany losing in WW1 and they had to give up some of their land.They wanted revenge from WW1.Hitler rose in power and promised to make Germany powerful.Germany started building ships and increasing the size of its army. On the 3rd of September 1939,Britian declared war on Germany.

Evacuees

At 11:07 am on Thursday 31st August 1939 the idea was given to evacuate .A further of 2 million or more wealthy individuals got evacuated privately, several thousands traveling to Canada and setting in hotels.Billeting officers were responsible to help people find their homes for the evacuees.A " pick your own evacuee " sessions would take place where the host families choose the smart children first.The country life for them was full of surprises .Seeing carrots growing in muddy fields,one child said"ours come in tins and milk came from cows which they didn't see before.
