You may talk quietly while working independently, but when Mrs. Adams is demonstrating, voices should be off. All artists deserve to hear my instructions and know the steps of the projects!
In this class, we do not comment on each other's art work. We create art for ourselves-it does not matter what anyone else thinks!
There is no such thing as good or bad in art, ONLY DIFFERENCES. Saying another artist made good art or bad art isn't accurate-they made DIFFERENT art!
Mrs. Adams follows this rule too! You don't need to ask me if I like it or what I think-it doesn't matter. If you are happy, then I am happy! If you aren't happy though....
I won't know if you need help unless you ask. Raise your hand and I am happy to help you solve your problem-I have so many solutions!
I will never assume you aren't happy with your work. What if I came along and said "Yikes! Looks like you need some help," but you loved your art? I will never make you second guess your own style.
Even famous artists who get paid lots of money don't like every single thing they make. You won't either-the pressure is off!
So remember to loosen up and have fun! You can't get it wrong-be brave, be creative, and try something new!
When coming into the classroom, find a seat quickly and quietly. The chairs are loud on the tile, please slide them gently.
You may choose your seat as long as there are no problems-choose wisely!
Please keep your hands in your lap, not messing with the supplies on the table
Make sure to wash the brush thoroughly with the coil bowl.
No need to rinse paint trays-other classes will use them.
We have two sinks-no need to crowd at one!
Be sure to place the brushes HANDLE SIDE DOWN in the cups to dry.
If using markers, please make sure
ALL LIDS
are on
when you
are done.
Place all media back in the trays on the table-check the floor around you.
If using pastel, make sure to put your
baby wipe in the trashcan once your
hands are clean.
Mrs. Adams will keep your artwork, whether it's finished or not, until the end of the year.
Artwork that is finished: carefully place on the drying rack with YOUR TEACHER'S NAME at the back of the class. Be careful not to lay it on top of someone else's.
Artwork that is not finished: place in the red basket by the door for me to file.
I will look for clean, quiet tables to line up first.
Please push in your chair quietly and line up single file on the blue line.
Be ready with a bubble and buckle to enter the hall.
I want you to sit where you'd like, but if there is too much talking during demo, I am happy to assign seats.
If supplies are consistently not taken care of, we won't get to use them...we will do boring color wheel worksheets instead.
If you are taking time away from others to create, I will have you give them that time back by cleaning their share during your recess.
-Artwork will go home with you each week
-Paintbrushes need to be stored handle side down
-I will have tables that are messy and talking line up first
-Professional artists do not like every single thing they make
-You should always tell your friend what you think of their artwork~they need to care about what you think!
-It is important to rinse all paint
trays when it's time to line
up
