Beowulf Project

By Charlotte Lee

Heroric Behaivor

Heroric Quote

¨Beowulf said, ´I am Beowulf, son of Ecgtheow. I am Beowulf, the one sun-seeker. I am Beowulf, who killed Grendel. I did not fear the child of Cain. Nor do I now fear You, who were once Cains Bride´¨ (Nye 69).

I chose this because Beouwlf uses a heroric quality called bravery to defeat She.

Field Work

- Me and my mom made bread and cookies for our neighbors and friends

-They were really happy because they like my moms bread alot

-Even though I didn’t know that specific neighbor that much It was nice being able to give them bread and just talk with them for a few minutes

Journey 2

Traveling

Jobs/Career

I want to do something that can involve art, mostly sketching.

Journey 4

Hobbies

If a career in art doesn´t work at for me I would want to just do art for fun. Also, I have been playing piano for 7 years and I would really like to continue it but without lessons and just enjoying it for myself

Journey 5

Final Thoughts

What I learned from Beowulf and this project is that you can try to make your weaknessess into things that can help you. Such as making bread. Im not very good at baking but I still was able to change the weakness of baking to something my neighbors can like and eat. It helped me because I got to hang out with other people

What I learned

I think the way we are defined is by the way we face challenges and new things. In the book ¨Beowulf a New Telling¨, Beowulf had to fight things that were new and challenging, he had to make sacrifices such as uses his bees to keep on going in his journey. People viewed him or defined him as a hero for his actions

How are we defined by the journeys we take?
