The impact of ww1 on America's homefront and post war events

Millions of women joined the workforce

this caused them to pick up jobs such as making bandages and knittings socks

There was a a massive migration of african americans coming from the war.

All of these people were moving from the rual southern states to the bigger cities in the north.

Mass migrations

American economy grew

Due to the war being in Europe most of the European economies were destryed. This left America as the largest and best economy do trade with.

More efficent factories

To supply the military with supplies (mostly ammunition) Factoeries were forced to produce produces cheaper and faster. After the war these factories then wer already set up to produces better leading to more production of products to trade with Europe.

Loaning problems

America had lots of money to lend to Britain and France during the war to help their allies. But after the war was over both England's and France's econmies struggling, They had no way of paying back those debts .
