Summary

The event takes place in Salem, Massachusetts. Rev, Paris's daughter cannot wake after dancing in the woods. Hale arrives to look at the girls. He believes their are witches in Salem. Hale condemned over 20 people to be hanged.

Throughout the Act's Rev Hale discovers this is all out of revenge. He goes through a amazing transformation as a character.

Hale wants to cleanse Salem of Witches and the Devil. I believe his motivation is to help people.

John Hale is a Minister in Beverly. He has spent his whole life studying Witches and the Devil. He arrives is Salem very full of himself. Mr. Hale doesn't like people to question his authority when it comes to witchcraft.

Right in the beginning Rev. Hale is manipulated. Abigail, Paris, and the girls take advantage of his arrogance; then pursue him to believe Salem is full of witchcraft. It isn't until Act Two that he questions if he made the right choice.

Hale had signed innocent people over for hanging. Hale realizes all of the accusations is because Abigail is jealous of Elizabeth. He takes responsibility for his actions; and comes back to Salem to go against his beliefs. To save the innocent!

Rev Hale along with Judge Danforth condemned over 70 hangings to take place for Witchcraft. Soon Hale backs out because of the belief they are sentencing innocent people to death.

Rev Hale comes to Salem full of himself. Hale then realizes his the reason everyone dying! Hale felt like he had their blood on his head. Hale goes against his beliefs to do the "Devils Work." Telling people to confess even though they're lying.
