Ancillary Texts

In our ancillary text we had the same common dark/ psychedelic theme to each and every text if it was the posters, tour poster, or the CD Cover.

In our group we all had a certain job to do in the ancillary texts which I listed down below.

With our posters, Marcus made five different versions on InDesign in which all include psychedelic and dark colours to continue with the theme of the depressed horror side of the whole of ancillary texts and also the music video. The idea to make five different versions of the poster was to make that there was more of a variety of our group.

I had to make the tour poster which I made from Photoshop. I continued on with the common dark theme and less of the psychedelic theme as I believed our posters were to more psychedelic then dark. Also I got inspiration for 'Rage against the Machine' tour poster.

And for the CD Packaging we all worked on them but Danny W focused all of his intentions in this texts. However we all had our touch into the work and kept the theme of the dark side of the texts with the track list being all black. And the cover having the psychedelic colours.

Effectivness

Effectiveness

The Effectiveness of our ancillary texts compared to our music video is very drastic. We always continued with the same theme through out all of all texts and videos. We had the theme of the dark and psychedelic colors and style.

This was effective in our texts and video as it allowed the audience to keep the same feeling of our band/texts. This is effective in an artists certain feel that the audience reseives. This is what we were aiming for, and we beleive have achived this.

Also we are able to promote our products with our ancillary texts such as; posters to broad out our advertising for our bands brand, collectibles to allow the audience to be involved with the band, etc...

Orginality

We as group were able to communicate all the ideas we wanted in our music video and with all of our music tastes and research we have done into these certain tastes we created out own video

With all of these ideas put into one we were able to make our own certain 'original' music video. With the psychedelic side of rock, the dark side of theme and the colorful shots of pop we created our own unique video.

However, we had a few influences through our music tastes that we used for our shots like I have spoken on before for my influences on the video.
