New PSHE Curriculum
Leeds has devised a new PSHE Curriculum that is designed for the children of our city. It has been developed by teachers from Leeds.
There are clear safeguarding units for each year group to cover, which include relationship and sex education and drugs.
The curriculum can be found on the network.
The folder is called PHSE CD.

The Scheme of Work
Over the next year, we will be asking year groups to start to cover the new PSHE curriculum. As we are being audited on Safeguarding in June, we have decided to start teaching the safeguarding topics. These are highlighed with a flag on your curriculum overview.
The scheme of work is very detailed and provides teachers with planned lessons to deliver.
The units are only THREE lessons long so can be done for one afternoon every two weeks.

So when...
We would like every year group to teach their drugs unit in Summer 2. We decided the drugs units because it would fit nicely with Spirit Alive and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
However, Year 4 and 6 have additional units to cover that encapsulate the Relationship and Sex Education.

I'll now hand out the Drugs unit plans for each year group. They are on A3 so you can scribble your own ideas onto the sheet.
The lessons need to work for the children in your class but must deliver the core objectives listed in the unit.
