In this prezi, I'll be pointing out several differences in the countries Italy and the United Kingdom
Italy and the UK have very different economies from their currency to the type of economy they hold.
Italy has a highly developed and industrialized north and an agricultural south. Italy also has a sizable underground economy making up 17% of Italy's GDP. Italy uses the currency of Euros. Even though Italy is the 3rd largest economy in the euro-zone, it has exceptionally high public debt and it keeps rising. As of 2020, Italy has an employment rate of 9.7% which is significantly more than United Kingdom's. People who are employed are mostly employed in services with about 73.9% of the labor workforce in services. Industry comes in second with about 23.9% and agriculture with 2.1%. Italy is a market economy because supply and demand influences products and it's a command economy because they have to pay taxes making them a mixed economy
The United Kingdom uses pounds as their currency. Similar to Italy, United Kingdom has mixed economy. The unemployment rate as of 2020 is about 3.8% which is significantly less than Italy's unemployment rate. The United Kingdom's economy is highly developed. Agriculture isn't very significant and not many people do it. This is unlike Italy because agriculture is quite important for Italy's economy. Agriculture in United Kingdom is only .7% of the GDP while industry is 23.2% and services is 76.2%.
Italy and the UK have very different political characteristics like government.
Italy has a government of democratic republic. It consists of a legislative, a judicial, and an executive subdivision. They also have a head of state also known as a president. Italy also runs on a multi-party system and is also a unitary state.
United Kingdom Political Characteristics
The social characteristics of the UK and Italy are very different since they include different ethnicities and social activities.
About 96% of people in Italy are Italian. The other 4% are North African Arab, Italo-Albanian, Albanian, German, Austrian and some other European groups. The dominant and major religion is Roman Catholicism but there is a growing immigrant muslim population. The languages spoken there are 93% italian and a wide range of other languages as well.
The dominant and most common spoken language in the UK is English with 98% of the population speaking it. Dialects, accents, and other languages make up the last 2%. Christianity is the dominant religion but minority religions include Islam, Hinduism, Sikhism, Judaism and Buddhism.
