CYBER BULLYING

What is cyberbullying?

Did you know that over 25% of teenagers have been bullied through their cellular devices?

According to Oxford languages, the definition of Cyber Bullying is "the use of electronic communication to bully a person, typically by sending messages of an intimidating or threatening nature."

The teens that participate in cyberbullying hide behind his/her screen to hurt others.

Why do bullies hide behind a screen?

Bullies will hide behind a screen and can taunt others because it is easier than saying it to one's face.

Bullying over the internet will not let the bully see the reaction and heartbreak that someone goes through.

Cyberbullies can use different resources like Instagram, direct message, email, and video games.

Three solutions to cyberbullying

Social Media was made for friends and family to share photos with each other in a judgement free zone. In today's soceity there is constant judgement and bullying.

On different social media platforms there should be a button to report users that have used that app to harrass and hurt others.

Strict Social Media rules

Bringing awareness to something so difficult can show that this huge issue is not the end of the world and ending bullying can stop the long term emotional and social effects.

Bring Awareness

Treat others with respect and dignity

Treat others with respect and dignity:

Treating others with respect means to listen and observe their thoughts and ideas, even if you disagree or hold a different view point, without judgement.

Treating others with dignity means to allow them to express their opinions and have a calm rationale discussion without attacking their character even if you disagree with their position.

Having strict rules to eliminate cyberbullying would show victims that bullying is not the end of the world.

Social Media and other internet platforms should be used to radiate positivity.

Why these solutions are affective

Conclusion

Cyberbullying is extremely serious, bullies will use the internet and social media to harass others, but will you do the same or will you use your favorite social media platform to radiate positivity?
