Summary

Jordan Baker

Jordan Baker wasn't really involved in the death of Gatsby. She was just friends with all of the people there. She was just a witness to the fight that Tom and Gatsby had.

Character 1

Tom Buchanan

Character 2

Tom was Married to Daisy and was unfaithful to Daisy. This made Gatsby Go after Daisy. If Tom hadn't been unfaithful, Gatsby never would have gone after her again. When Tom and Gatsby got into a fight, Gatsby and Daisy went home and ended up hitting Myrtle. Since she thought it was Tom. She jumped in front of the car. When Tom, Nick and Jordan came across this, Tom gave Wilson the information of the car.. He said it was Gatsby who was driving, even though it was Daisy. Wilson killed Gatsby and Tom got away with it.

("Throw me down and beat me, you dirty little coward!") (Myrtle Wilson I forgot the page number for the quote but it's in chapter 7)

Jay Gatsby/James Gatz

Character 3

Gatsby was most responsible for his own death. Gatsby needed to have his ideal life. If he didn't try to force that, he would have been fine. Since Gatsby tried to get Daisy back, he wanted her to say that she never loved Tom even though she did. Daisy said, This started an even bigger argument between the three of them. Gatsby just wouldn't let it go. He had to have everything the way he wanted it to be. If he could except some things, he wouldn't had led to his own death.

("Even alone I can't say I never loved Tom." Fitzpatrick pg.133)

The End

I think his death was inevitable considering he got his wealth selling alcohol. The way he did things, he was going to wind up dead.
