Crow Brings Daylights

The Story

-The story has several titles and no specific author

- The Crow that bring daylight and/or Crow Brings Daylight

The story revolves around a crow that tells a story about daylight to the inuit people. The inuit people lived in the artic where it was always dark. The crow talks about how the skies are blue and filled with light. The people then begged the crow to bring them daylight. At first he denied them but after more pleading he gave in. The crow set out on his jouney. After reaching the sun he came upon a village in the sun. He turned himself into a spec of dust after following ta young girl into the cheiftain's hut. He then floated into a child's ear and told him to play with the orbs of light and to bring one outside. Once the kid did as told, the crow changed back into his normal form and took the ball of light.

The crow then flew back north and once arriving the orb fell to the ground and shattered into pieces. Bringing daylight to the inuit people. Unfortunately, the crow being old and tired said he could only bring the orb every six months. Giving a reason as to why the inuit people have six months with daylight and six months of darkness. The inuit people must always be kind to the crow because of this.

Culture

Relation to Culture

- The story realtes to the native american culture because the Inuit people are a group of indigenous civilization.

- The inuit people are a type of native americans the difference is they are located in alaska/the artic and have their own dialect.

- The story itself has been passed down from generation to generation of the inuit people.

Inuit People

Storytelling

- The story could be very effective as a storytelling performance.

- It is a short story which is beneficial when giving a performance because you do not want to have an hour long story that might cause the audience to lose their focus/patience.

- Fortunately the story is entertaining enough on its own and can keep you focused.

The Performance

Performance

- When presenting the story expressing different voices for the characters is necessary to keep the audience engaged.

- I would move around and maybe even act like a flying crow, to act the part of the story where the crow is traveling.

- Along with acting out when the inuit people are pleading, and show a desperate facial expression, so the audience could see how important daylight was to them.

- Throughout the story having a humorous and vibrant expression to keep the audience captivated and entertained.

- At the end of the story I would change into a cheerful expression as the inuit people recieved their daylight.
