Fifth grade field day is a day in the spring when all of the fifth graders meet in one place to play games and make new friends. Its is mostly a social event to meet new people before they get to middle school.
In previous years it has been held at the Mocksville YMCA. They no longer wanted the schools using their inside facilities, so Pinebrook Elementary hosted it this year. Though there are hopes and plans of it being held at the new community center in the future.

When the day came, we begain with setting everything up then waiting for the other schools to arrive. When the sun came out it proceded to get quite hot. Everyone got there then split into their group and went through the stations. We finished stations around 12:00 and then had lunch and socialized for about an hour. After that everyone played tug of war and then we began to clean up and other schools began to leave.
