Some Powers of the Judicial Branch:
-Judge cases pertaining to law and equity, laws of the US, treaties, ambassadors, other public ministers and consuls, to all cases of admirality and maritime jurisdiction, to controversies involving the US, controversies between states, etc.
-Original jursidiction in cases affecting ambassadors, other public ministers and consuls, and US states.
-Apellate jurisdiction to all other cases before mentioned.
Some Powers of the Legislative Branch:
House of Representatives:
-Sole power of impeachment
-Elect president if there is a tie of electoral college votes.
-Initiate revenue bills.
Senate:
-Try impeachments.
-Propose or approve amendments.
-Ratify treaties.
-Confirms appointments from the President.
Both:
-Declare war.
-Make laws.
Some Powers of the Executive Branch:
-Commander in chief of the U.S. Army and Navy, and also of State Militias.
-Grant reprieves and pardons.
-Pass and veto bills.
-Give The State of the Union address.
With consent of the Senate:
-Make treaties.
-Nominate ambassadors, public ministers, and consuls.
-Nominate judges to the Supreme Court.
-Temporarily fill vacancies in the Senate
VP is president of the Senate, but doesn't vote unless it is equally divided.
