Bear Reproduction System

Made by Kenadie Meyer

Bear Reproduction system.

.A male suitor trails his prospective mate from a distance, smelling her daybeds and sniffing her urine to analyze how receptive she is

What attracts a male to a female?

In areas where food is scarce grizzly bear cubs will nurse for up to three years.

After the 2-3 years is up female grizzly bears will then start teaching their cubs to climb trees.

How do they take care of their young?

After learning to climb they will start teaching them to fish and hunt.

In areas where food is easy to access cubs will nurse for about 2 1/2 years.

When they are about 3 1/2 years old they will leave their mother.

For most grizzly bears, mating season runs from May into the first part of June. The female becomes mature and able to have cubs between 4 1/2 and 10 years of age. Most females will breed once every three to four years, as it requires a few years to integrate their cubs into the world.

How many times a year do they mate?

A female grizzly will only mate about 4-8 times in her lifetime.
