SWAMIJI'S RING

What do you think about the end of the history?

First question

Passage person

I think the end of the story because it is a good ending for Rahul. It shows that his mother has accepted that he doesn't believe in the magic ring.

In my opinion the end is really sad, because Rahul is angry with his mother and her seems to be disappointed, but not only with Rahul, she is disappointed even with herself because she could not understand her son at all.

From my point of view the end is a little bit melancholy because Rahul got along with his mother but later they finish faced between them.

Second question

Which character of the story do you prefer ?

My favorite character in this story is Rahul because he is very confidence about his ability, and also he does well in this story because he manage to get that job by himself.

But his mother is also a good mother because she try to help her son ,but she is a little control over about him.

Passage person

I like Rahul because he is very similar to me, because I don't believe either in fortune. And the only character that I don't like is Swamiji, because he starts everything and he doesn't even appear.Nowadays, he is like the people who tells your future for money or write the horoscope

· Rahul's mother is very superstitious, she's the only one that believes in the magic of the ring.

· Rahul tries to behave with his mother but he doesn't believe in superstitions.

· Swamiji is fortune teller, he gives the ring to Rahul's mother.

Third question

Is there any part that you liked more than the others?

My favorite passage is Rahul's job interview because it is a realistic situation that can easily happens in the real live. And I hate when Rahul throws the ring, though it is a really important passage, i thing a family should be always together.

Summarizer

There are many main events in the history like when Swamiji gives the ring to Rahul's mother or the interview of Rahul for an engineering job but I think the determining passage is when Rahul rejects what his mother believes throwing the ring to the floor

My favorite part in this story is in page 44,line 4,In this part,Rahul began to tell the truth to his mother, and also I think it is the most funny part in this story, too.

Passage person

Which theme is the principal of the story for you?

Fourth question

Word Master

The ring is the principal object in the story all are related with it also words like fortune and superstition are repeated often because they are the topic of the story

For me the main theme is the fortune. Nowadays there is a lot of people who believes in this kind of things such us the horoscope or the people who reads the future. Despite all this people, in Spain I think not everyone takes this seriously

Passage person

The theme of this story for me is the wrong love that Rahul's mother gives to him and it shows by the "magic ring".And also it shows us there has no magic in the world, you can done well in everything by working hard, but not by the magic.

Fifth question

Does anyone of you believe in magic ?

Passage person

In fact,I don't really believe in the magic,I think the only way to be success is working hard, then you can got everything you want, but the magic is also important to our lives,it gives us a motion to continued to have the hope in our lives.

Connector/Culture collector

I love magic and my parents love it too, but we don't think that it is real, in my opinion magic is a mix of speed, charisma to pull in people and talent

Summarizer/ Word Master

The magic is a show related with the skills of the people but I think that it isn't a superstition of something in that you can believe.
