Dunning-Kruger effect, in psychology, a cognitive bias whereby people with limited knowledge or competence in a given intellectual or social domain greatly overestimate their own knowledge or competence in that domain relative to objective criteria or to the performance of their peers or of people in general.
The Dunning-Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which people wrongly overestimate their knowledge or ability in a specific area. This tends to occur because a lack of self-awareness prevents them from accurately assessing their own skills.

If anyone thinks they are smarter than everyone else at a topic, they're usually the dumbest. The true smartest person is the most humble.
Origin
You're in a 200 meter dash competition, you finish first place. You think "hey maybe I could do a marathon since I did so good at the 200 meter dash". When you enter the marathon you start bolting and you get completly gassed at around 400m. Everyone passes you, This is a example of the dunning krueger effect by showing that you were too ignorant to realise a 200 meter dash and a marathon were 2 different things.
Justin krueger and David Dunning first described it in 1999. They came up with the idea from a bank robbery. Obviously Dunning Krueger effect came from the men's last name
In 1995 Mcarthur Wheeler robbed a bank with lemon juice on his face
Justin and David got the idea from this very robbery
Mcarthur did the robbery in broad daylight and with no face covering because he thought lemon juice would make him invisible on security cameras
The bridge was closed in 2019
The bridge was open to bikers and pedestrians in 2021 but is still closed to major traffic
They say the bridge still wont be open to cars for at least another 5 years so its going to take at least 10 years to fix this bridge
he said they were there to take control, but in fact nothing has happened yet its been 3 years since that video was posted. The total cost of fixing the bridge is around $250 million. That number is absolutley nothing to the british government they could easily get that fixed.
People are still waiting to get the bridge fixed because it redirected traffic for many people to unconvienent bridges.
