A proxy conflict is when two governments are support two opposing groups who are fighting each other

As goverments expand their sphere of influence, the goverments thirst for more control and authority expands as they gain more puppets

When Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was elected in 2009 there were mass protests due to his controversial election victory. There were reports of killing, rape and torture of detained protesters, according to Human Rights Watch.
As of 2019, issues presented by Amnesty International include the use of lethal force, killing over 300, to unlawfully crush protests.
Bahá'í Faith which was founded in the 19th century in Iran and other parts of the Middle East. The origins of the persecution begin with the belief that Bahá'ís is inconsistent with the faith of Islam. The Bahá'í community in Iran have been subjected to unwarranted arrests, false imprisonment, beatings, torture, unjustified executions, confiscation and destruction of property.
How would a conflict in the Middle East affect international Politics
The Strait of Hormuz
Iran has stated that if there were to be a conflict they would blockade the Strait of Hormuz. If this Strait get blocked by Iranian vessels it would make the Oil prices soar even higher than today.
An intervention by the US may seem unlikely since Iran is a nuclear power, but it would be at least in their best minds to move troops to Israel for a staging ground for a later invasion.
But if they were to launch an invasion or deploy troops to help defend her allies, the United States would likely come out on top in a conflict with Iran due to the USA's technological advantage.
Talked about proxy conflicts and why they occur, the overall negative view of Iran and the reasons why and how a conflict would affect wourld politics and the oil prices.
