Bite Size Tid-Bits of Information
Southwest Learning Commons Edition!!
Did You Know!
- There is only one requirement to access the LC's plethora of resources. You simply need to be a JCTC Student or Faculty member (and something tells me you won't have any issues with that!)
- Southwest Learning Commons is officically named after a hard-working female educator who dedicated 40+ years of her life to the growth and sucess of of both JCTC and it's students. Her name is Dr. Diane Calhoun-French
- Napping: When you were in High School napping in school was frowned upon. But, now you're in college, and if you need a few moments of shut eye between classes or studying, you are welcome to get comfy in the LC!
- Replacement Student ID's: if you're in need of a new student ID, because the original somehow vanished into thin air (or you burned it because you hated the original photo ;-), no worries. The LC's got you covered. For a $10 replacement fee you can get a brand spanking new card
- There are dozens upon dozens of Encyclopedia's in the LC. The JCTC Downtown Campus doesn't even have a stand alone reference section. Southwest Campus LC has Encyclopdias such as the Encyclopedia of Body Adornment (a.k.a. Tattoos), Encyclopedia of Religion, Encyclopedia of Witchcraft, Encyclopedia of Ghost and Spirits, Encyclopedia of the Victorian Era, Encyclopedia of Native American Tribes, Encyclopdia of Fishing, Encyclopedia of Volcanoes, Encyclopedia of Art, and much, much more....
