While both paintings depict the same thing, the two pieces are worlds apart. The one on the left follows a very prominent golden color scheme. The one on the left goes for a much more realistic and natural choice of colors. There is also a clear difference in realism, where the one on the left looks to have no depth the one on the right has depth making it more realistic.
Both depictions of Christ have a clear relation to religion and christianity. There are, however, differences between these two portraits of Christ. The one on the left is without emotion, surrounded by golden colors, and ultimately does not look like a very realistic painting of a real figure. "Christ the Redeemer" has a noteable expression on his face, has a black background, and has depth in his wrinkles and rounded surfaces.
The two portraits display a man, but there are small details that make them vastly different. The left painting has lighting that helps express the space of the portrait and coveys a more three dimensional look. Wheras the one on the right has a more two dimensional look and the painting feels flat.
