INFINITIVE: Is the purest form of the verb.
VERB STEM: When the infinitive is removed.
REGULAR VERBS: There is no change in the verb stem.
IRREGULAR VERBS: There is a change in the verb stem.
CONJUGATION: A verb is conjugated when it is manipulated to specify who is doing the action: You speak. To conjugate a verb we need to take off the infinitive ('to' in English and '-ar', '-er' and '-ir' in Spanish) and then add the set of endings.
ENGLISH: There is only one verb ending (conjugation) that is the third singular person: He/she speaks
SPANISH: There are different sets of endings depending on who is doing the action. IMPORTANT! Each infinitive '-ar', '-er' and '-ir' has its own set of endings. Here are the set of verb endings for '-ar':
