Introduction CC

Today Jazmyn and I will be talking about Canada and why it is a great country.

Geography JK

Canada is located north of North America, and is the second biggest country in the world!(The first biggest country is Russia.) The capital of Canada is Ottowa, and the area of the country is 3.8 million square miles.

Food CC

Canada has many different foods like smoked salman, or Monreal-style smoked meat, but the most popular food is probably Poutine. ( That is a picture of Poutine)

Clothes JK

The clothes in Canada are not very different than the clothes in America. There is a traditional dress though, but it is not a dress that only women wear, the dress looks like a military uniform, and it was made only for tradition.

Language CC

In Canada they speak French and English. Some examples of French are bonjor. (which means hello in French) Oui, ( which means yes in French) and oú se travent les toilettes. ( which means where is the bathroom in French

Money JK

Canada does not have the same money that we do. They have something called a Canadian Dollar, 1 Canadian Dollar is equaled to .78 usd. Canadian Dollar bills have braille-like markings on them to help the blind. They also make $1000 bills.

Education CC

Canada has the best education in the world! When you go to school you start Kindergarten at the age of 5 or 6 and go to twelve grade at the age of 17 or 18.

Government JK

Canada´s government is called the Federal Parliamentary State and constists of the queen and two houses. One of the houses is the Senate and the other house is the House of Represenatives. Its was founded in 1867. and the head of the government it the Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Famous Citizens JK

There are many different famous citizens from Canda, there are people like Drake, who is a famous Canadian rapper. There is also Ryan Reynolds who is a famous Canadian actor and starred in the movie deadpool, or Dwayne Johnson who is a Canadian-American actor who starred in the movie Jumanji.

Religions CC

In Canada, 23.9% of the population dont have a religion, but christianity is the largest religion in Canada with 67.3% of the population, and 3.2% of the population is Islam.

Population JK

As of Febuary 8, 2018 there were 36.95 million people in Candada.

Laws CC

Canada has many of the same laws as we in the U.S. do, but this paragraph is about what different laws Canada has. The first law is that it is illegal to carry a personal defense weapon against a human attack. It includes pepper spray and guns. The second strange law from Canada is that in one part of Canada (Petrolia, Ontario) you are not allowed to whistle.

Special Customs and Holidays JK

There are many holidays like Canada day which is when Canada got their full independence, or Remembrance day which is when World War One ended, or Louis Riel day which is a family day in Canada.

Sports CC

There are many Sports in Canada, but the most famous is probably ice hockey, or curling, which is a sport that you slide a stone on ice and 1 or 2 people sweep with a broom to cause fricion to make the stone go farther.

Conclusion JK

In conclusion there are many reasons that Canada is a great country, and maybe someday you´ll want to go there.
